What Is Reflow Soldering?

Reflow soldering is a procedure that electrically and mechanically attaches digital parts to a printed ciruit board (PCB).

The procedure starts by using solder paste on the PCB in a specific pattern using a specialized pattern
printer.

The solder paste contains a metal alloy put on hold in a blend of solvents and other products. After
that, the circuit card is heated up utilizing a reflow stove.

The reflow stove is a closed box with a heating unit, fan, and temperature level sensor inside.

The circuit card is placed in a heating system, where the temperature level gradually enhances.

When the temperature reaches the melting point of the solder paste, the solder paste melts and fills up
the space in between the element and the PCB. Then, the temperature gradually lowers, and the solder
paste cools down and solidifies.

Reflow soldering is one of the most frequently used PCB soldering procedures. It has the
complying with advantages
:

• High welding high quality, low empty welding, and false welding rate.

• High production efficiency, ideal for high-volume PCB production.

• The procedure is easy and easy to control.

• Little influence on the atmospher.

There are two major kinds of reflow: single-sided reflow and double-sided reflow.

Single-sided reflow just requires a single solder reflow oven, while double-sided reflow requires two
times reflow stoves.

In double-sided reflow soldering, need to take into consideration the following
variables:

Components temperature level resistance:
The initial side parts require to go through the reflow stove twice, so their temperature level
resistance must be able to endure the temperature level of two reflows.

Components dimension: It is suggested that smaller sized components be positioned on
the first side of the reflow oven since they are lighter and will certainly not fall off throughout the
second reflow stov.

Components layout: Components layout must be as also as possible to prevent way too
many parts in certain areas leading to warpin.

PCB Reflow soldering is a significant process in digital production. Comprehending the concepts and
approaches of reflow soldering can boost PCB soldering top quality and production effectiveness.
